Phyllis Holt Markham

TREMONTON – Phyllis Holt Markham, 94, Passed away Saturday December 22, 2012 at the Bear River Valley Care Center.  She was born November 13, 1918 in Spanish Fork, Utah to William D Holt and Zella Ann Monk.

She married Lynn C Markham June 27, 1941 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.  Phyllis and Lynn moved to the Tremonton area in 1945.

Phyllis was an active member of the LDS Church and held ward positions in the Primary, MIA, and Relief Society, she also held the position of Stake Music Chorister.

She is survived by her children; Phillip (Margeret ) Markham of Lehi, Carolyn (Steven) Keene of Elwood, and Paul (Deborah) Markham of Lawrence, Kansas.  14 grandchildren,  21 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, her husband, and a daughter.

Funeral services will be held on January 2, 2013 at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral home located at  111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah.  A viewing will start at 9:30 AM and Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM at the same location.   Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.

Cleon Anderson

Cleon Anderson, 98, returned to his Heavenly Father and eternal companion Myrtle on December 23, 2012 at the Bear River Valley Care Center.

He was born in Bothwell, Utah on May 8, 1914, to the strong pioneer stock of Rasmus (Daddy) and Mary Elvina Anderson.  He was the thirteenth of sixteen siblings who all preceded  him in death.  He loved them dearly and diligently cared for each of them through the years.

At an early age he took to the fields with his plow horses and began his lifelong career as a master farmer.  He was an avid horseman and well regarded for his breaking and training horses.

Cleon was a man of integrity, ingenuity, and possessed an immense work ethic.  In 1939 he won the love of his sweetheart Myrtle with peanuts, charm and a dandy hat.

On September 20, 1940 they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.  Together they created a livelihood for their family through chickens, turkeys, sugar beets and crop farming. They lived in Corinne, Utah, Bonners Ferry, Idaho before settling in his beautiful Bothwell.  His love of the land there kept him farming well into his seventies.

Cleon was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and held the office of High Priest in the Bothwell Ward.  He served as President of the Young Men,  secretary of the elders quorum.  He was a faithful home teacher for many years and was always willing to serve others.

Cleon  was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and the touchstone of our lives and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children; Michael (RaNae) Anderson; Bothwell, UT; Marla Pierce, Garland, UT; Dwight (Darlene) Anderson, Brigham City, UT; Nona (Doug) Hunsaker, Deweyville, UT; Mindy Anderson, Bothwell, UT.  Two sisters-in-law, Ruth Larsen, St. George, UT; Dorene Jeppesen, Roy, UT; One Brother-in-law, Ralph Jergensmeier, N. Ogden, UT.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle; his parents; six brothers, 9 sisters; Infant son, Richard Emil; Grandson, Brian Weichman; Infant Grandsons; Jerry Cleon Pierce, Michael Shane Anderson; Infant Grand-daughter Sherri Lyn Pierce; Great-Granddaughters; Angela Lyn Fonnesbeck and Rachel Marie Fonnesbeck.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Tremonton 7th Ward Chapel (Bothwell Church) at 12:00 noon.  A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Rudd Funeral Home (Garland) and prior to services on Friday from 10:00-11:30 am.  Interment will be at the Bothwell Cemetery.

A special thanks to the staff at the Bear River Valley Care Center for the tender care given our father for the past year and a half.  Also to the CNS Health Services for the compassionate care.

Shirley  Ann Nadine Coffee

TREMONTON- Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Shirley Ann Nadine Coffee, 79, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah from complications of a stroke.
She was born on December 31, 1932 on her father’s birthday in Worland, Wyoming, the first daughter to Fred and Kay Liekum Staley.
She married Gordon Gottschalk and they had three wonderful children. They later divorced.  Shirley married Wesley Orville Coffee on April 30, 1977 in Pleasanton, California.
She loved cooking for her family and enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, computers and loved the one armed bandit.
In her younger years she loved riding on her motorcycle and camping in her 5th wheel.
Surviving are her husband, Wesley; three daughters, Sandy (Rob) Nelsen; Debra (Bill) Myers; Wendy (Brent Pearce) Williams; six grandchildren, Lynde, Kimberlee, Megan, Samantha, Haley and Matthew and six great grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Abigail, Wyatt, Benjamin, Marlie and Jack and two brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Gillies Funeral Chapel, Brigham City. Interment was held in the Brigham City Cemetery.

Faye Chaille Baggett Ellis

Born July 2, 1930 in Arlington, TX to Charlie C. and Hattie Faye Walker Baggett. Died Dec 17, 2012 at her home in Fielding, UT from a stroke. Married Lee G Ellis Feb 19, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mother of 8 – Judy (Terry) Hamblin, Pamla ( David) Carr, Glenda (Gordon) Archibald, David (Paula) Ellis, Faye (Ralph) Facundo, Daniel (Annette) Ellis, Chaille (Cal) Roberts, and Melinda(Kevin) Koplin. Grandmother of 30 grandchildren and great grandmother of 57 great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by Charlie Carl Baggett (brother). Survived by Lucretia & (Ron)Jensen, Charlotte Taggart, & Richard & (Janette) Baggett. Active member of the LDS church. Served a mission in Tonga also served in the Logan Temple 3 years as well as many other callings in the church. The family would like to thank the Intermountain Home Care nurses and aids for their loving and tender care. Viewing to be held at McDougal Funeral Home on 4330 S Redwood Road at 6pm-8pm on Fri Dec 21, 2012 and funeral services to be held in Fielding Ut. on Dec. 22 at the Fielding Stake Center 4375 W 15600 N at 1:00pm. There will be a viewing at 11:30am – 1:00pm prior to funeral. We love you and will miss you mom.
