We have another letter from Orson and Jeannette Poulsen. Jeannette is working in the Old Nauvoo post office. She says historically Joseph Smith, Jr., got so much mail by COD that wasn’t paid for that he had to put a notice in the paper that if COD’s weren’t paid for he wouldn’t accept them. He got a lot of mail from friends and foes alike. The regular mail was not trustworthy, so in order to be sure a letter sent was received, many copies of the letters were sent many times. Many letters were sent without postage and sometimes without envelopes. The mail really piled up!

Orson and Jeannette do a vignette in the play “Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo.” They are Jed and Annie. Orson also goes on the wagon ride around the city, past historic places. A narrator tells the history of these places as they are passed.

Laura Wheatley says her family has finally recovered from their two Thanksgiving meals. They spent Thursday with Zane’s family and Sunday with Laura’s family.

Zane and Laura left Everly and Georgia with Grandma and Grandpa Hendricks overnight while they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary at the Red Lobster in Sugarhouse. After dinner the twosome went to the Off-Broadway Theatre to see the comedy, “Off-White Christmas.”

Boyd and Kris Udy spent Thanksgiving Day in town. They fed or got to see most of their kids. Tyrell and Aaron came down from Montana. Boyd remarked that granddaughter Kynzee really looks forward to riding horses whenever she sees Boyd.

Jim and Starr Mitchell went to son Steven’s home for Thanksgiving. There were 15-20 people in attendance. Games were set up in the basement and, of course, there were football games on TV.

Winnie Richman had Thanksgiving dinner ready for the 10 people who came. Friday and Saturday were relaxed; Jazz basketball games, leftovers and potato cakes.

Sunday was a wonderful ward conference. The choir sang and Carol Larsen did a wonderful job leading and Brooklyn Schultz was a very able accompanist.

Also on Sunday, Clynn and Winnie were visited by the Lott family. Colton and Caden have been in Phoenix, Ariz., getting an education and came home for Thanksgiving.

Cleo and Gary Petit drove to Ogden to spend Thanksgiving with Steven and Ashley Mitchell.
