Jones ready for breakout year at C of I
Tabbed conference preseason player of the year
It’s been a fun three years for Tremonton’s Felicity Jones.
As the former BRHS basketball star readies for her senior year at the College of Idaho, she can’t believe how fast it has gone.
Jones, a four-year varsity member at Bear River, was a Parade magazine all-American nominee during her senior year. After earning all-state honors, Jones signed at College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.
Two years later Jones signed with the College of Idaho (formerly Albertson’s College). She had a breakout year in 2011-12, scoring a team leading 13.2 points per game and grabbed 5.2 rebounds. She earned NAIA honorable mention All-America honors, while being named to the All-Cascade Conference team and was the CCC Newcomer of the Year. She recently was named the conference’s preseason player of the year by league coaches.
The ‘Yotes won the conference tournament, making it to the NAIA National Finals, finishing with a #22 ranking.
Known for her speed in high school, Jones could blow past any defender in her path to the basket. She exhibited that same speed in college, but had to develop other aspects of her game in order to contribute on the college level.
