ISU senior set for final season of basketball
Idaho State University forward Jessa Jeppesen is not your typical major college basketball player. She’s as competitive as they come on the floor, dominating the effort stats, but off the floor, with super-model looks, you wouldn’t have a clue she was a hoop star.
Jeppesen, a senior, is readying for her final season of competitive hoops. Her route has been a circuitous one; from Garland to Rock Springs, Wyo., then finally Pocatello, Idaho, and the ISU Bengals.
It really is an amazing story, if you think about it. Here was a tall 9th grader who was approached about playing basketball competitively, really, for the first time. Mentored by former BRHS coach Rex McKee, she blossomed into a fearsome low post presence in high school, and then dominated on the junior college scene at Western Wyoming, averaging over 19 points per game as a sophomore.
