BRHS production begins this week
“Fiddler on the Roof” will be performed on Nov. 8-10 and Nov. 12, at 7 p.m., each night, with a 2 p.m. matinee on the Nov. 10. All performances are held at the Bear River High School auditorium. Discount tickets are available at www.showtix4u.com
In undertaking a show of this magnitude Bear River’s Theatre Art director, Bradlee W. Skinner, has brought in two guest directors to assist with the production. Mary Farris and Judean Parkinson take the helm in directing the 60 students in the cast. Brian Petersen is the music director and Skinner will serve as choreographer.
Under the direction of Skinner and his crew, the audience will be transported to the little village of Anatevka, as Tevye (played by Edward Pingel) deals with maintaining his Jewish religious traditions while coping with his daughters as they each choose a husband. Tevye’s wife, Golde, is played by Janessa Johnson. The roles of the three oldest daughters are filled by Emily Pingel (Tzeitel), Rachelle Koyle (Hodel) and Amber Gentry (Chava).
Teyve must choose between his daughters’ happiness and his beloved traditions as he more and more reluctantly bows to their wishes in a changing and sometimes threatening world.
Ticket prices, if purchased in advance, are $5 or $3 for students (kindergarten-college). At the door they are $7 or $5 for students.
