Last week students at Alice C Harris Intermediate School participated in a WIN time celebration.
ACHIS has created a school wide program for interventions called WIN (What I Need). This program ensures students who are not proficient receive an intervention in a timely fashion – at the first indication they are experiencing difficulty. Interventions take place during the school day.
This allows students to receive extra time and help from their classroom teacher. Students who are proficient in all classes have the opportunity to choose from a list of activities to participate in during this time. The activities have been designed to take into account intellectual development as well as social, emotional and physical growth opportunities.
