Zundel runs wild in win over Scots

For the second straight week Bear River controlled the line of scrimmage, this time resulting in a 47-12 win. The win makes the Bears 2-1 in region play and 4-2 this season.
This week’s game is at Morgan on Friday night. Morgan is coming off a tough one-point loss to Stansbury. Morgan and Bear River have had a great rivalry going for the past decade or so, and each team always brings its best game to the field.
Against Ben Lomond last week it was Branson Fonnesbeck, Carson Gibbs, Braden Pugsley, Kylan Southward and Justus Wise creating gaping holes and protecting their quarterback, Kyle Zundel. They marched the ball down the field and scored a touchdown on their first possession. The offensive line was relentless, leading to a 41-6 halftime lead.
Zundel connected with Wade Miller for the game’s first touchdown. Zundel later hit Garrett Fronk for a pair of touchdowns, one coming on a deep seam route where Fronk had picked a perfect line to the end zone.
The defense played a good game, as well. The Scots had one speedy running back that found a hole twice in the game and each of those big plays turned into touchdowns for Ben Lomond.
The Bears were able to get touchdowns on the ground, as well as through the air. Taylor Lund had the Bears’ first rushing touchdown. Zundel ran one in for a score and Jeramie Selman ran for another. Jardee Nessen capped off Bear River’s scoring with a 15-yard touchdown.
