Bears take third at home meet

Three years ago a group of sophomore cross country runners took a 3A state title and this year as graduating seniors that same group of boys joined one last time for their last home meet.
The Top of Utah Invitational, Bear River’s only home meet, was held on Friday at Jeanie Stevens Park. The Bear River boy’s cross country team took third overall in the meet behind Sky View and Clearfield.
“We have a pack mentality and from our first through our fifth runner we had a 20 second spread which is almost unheard of,” said coach Dan Line.
Senior Tanner Anderson came in first for Bear River and ninth overall with a time of 13:12 minutes. Spencer Stamps followed in 11th place at 13:21, Brackon Rawlinson in 15th at 13:27, Tanner Christensen in 16th at 13:28, Camren Chadwick in 18th at 13:32, Bryce Tueller in 22nd at 13:47 and Lane Bitner in 27th at 13:56.
