The Bear River volleyball team hosted Morgan last Tuesday. The Trojans are a tough, experienced team to play and the Bears lost in three with scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-9.

“The score didn’t show how well they played,” coach Megan Cooper stated. “It was one of our better defensive games. The girls played their hearts out but Morgan is just a better all-round team.”

In serving stats, Alyssa Park had four points with two aces and Monica Olsen had three points with one ace. Park had five kills with Stephany Peterson and Olsen tied at two. Caitlin Wiggins had eight digs. Olsen and Kelsee Hancock each had four digs. Peterson also had two solo blocks and Park contributing with one.

The girls then traveled to Grantsville and saw much better passing and serving. ¬†“I really thought they were going to pull through with a win. ¬†They fought for every point and adjusted to Grantsville’s offensive,” Cooper said. “In the fourth set the girls had a mental block and Grantsville took advantage of it and ran with it.”

The team lost in four with scores ending at 20-25, 25-17, 23-25 and 14-25.

Junior libero Michelle Davis had 13 serving points with four aces and had 13 digs. Olsen served eight points with four aces. Samantha Getz had seven points with two aces and had four kills.
