The Bear River boys’ cross country team ran to a second place finish against some of Idaho’s top schools on Friday at the Tiger/Grizz Invitational in Idaho Falls.

They raced second behind Idaho’s 4A top school, Pocatello, finishing 21 points behind the Indians.

“We just had that really good pack again,” coach Dan Line said.

The boys’ team took three of the top 20 spots. Tanner Anderson was Bear River’s top runner, taking 8th overall at 17:16. Spencer Stamps took 15th at 17:42, Tanner Christensen took 16th at 17:43, Brackon Rawlinson took 22nd place with a time of 17:47, Camren Chadwick took 40th with a time of 18:23, Bryce Tueller took 48th at 18:33 and Lane Bitner took 61st with a time of 18:45.

The Bears beat out 35 other teams.

“That was a great meet,” Line said. “We’re right where we want to be.”
