Midland Square in Tremonton is well known for the patriotic Veteran’s Memorial and the chimes of the clock tower. Others enjoy the activities often hosted at this convenient location, while some spend time walking the beautiful grounds, admiring the landscape and newly added flowers in full bloom. It should be no surprise that Midland Square has been nominated for the Leader Business Green Arrow Award.
Midland Square has been an important part of the city since the early 2000s, and Tremonton City’s Park Superintendent Lynn Green has spent the past 12 years keeping the Square spruced up.
Although there have been many individuals who have donated to make the Square the focal point it is today, Green has been the man behind the scene working diligently each week to keep Midland Square in top shape. He oversees the watering, weeding and planting and makes sure the mowing contractors, (Yard Dawgs) do the best job, which he says they always do.
Green said he thinks he was born with a strong work ethic. “I have just always been a person who wants things to look nice.” He spends about ten hours each week grooming Midland Square. But he also beautifies about nine other locations throughout town, not to mention all the parks and debris basins.
