The Idaho High School Rodeo Club competed in the state finals in Pocatello, Idaho, last week. Three local cowboys, Wyatt Misrasi, Riley Skinner and Nick Burbidge, competed in the event, but it was Misrasi who came out on top as he qualified for nationals in cow cutting.
Misrasi, 16, son of George and Nicole Misrasi of Elwood, is in his second year with the Idaho Rodeo Club. He went into the state event as the first place seed in the district in cow cutting. At state he placed fourth in the event, which qualified him for Nationals in Rock Springs, Wyo., July 15-22.
After the first three rounds, Misrasi was sitting in fifth place. In the short go, he tied for first place, which bumped him into fourth, to claim the final qualifying position for Nationals. His top score during state was 145.
