Color Guard flips to third state title
Leader Sports Writer
It was late Saturday night of Easter weekend. The American Fork gymnasium was full of teary eyed, happy and drained Bear River Color Guard players and coaches as they claimed their third straight state title.
“I am so proud of this team. They have worked so hard to get to this point,” said coach Melissa Snyder through an emotional filled voice.
In the previous competitions before state the Bears finished in second once and first place in all the other contests. The Bears faced the talented teams from Desert Hills and Dixie, who were competitive all season. The Bears knew their search for a third championship was going to be extremely challenging.
