Leaders hear youth issues
Members of city councils, law enforcement agencies, the Box Elder School District and other representatives of community organizations were treated to a youth focus luncheon last week as they discussed the major issues plaguing the youth in the area.
The group heard from Bonnie Young, the Box Elder School District’s nurse, as she discussed teen pregnancies throughout the county’s schools.
Principal Keith Kline from Alice C. Harris Intermediate School talked about apathy within students and compared the issues surrounding different levels of students according to socioeconomic backgrounds. Sean Horsley from the Bear River Valley Hospital discussed teen suicide.
