While most teens were flocking to the movie theaters on the weekend of March 23, to watch the ‘The Hunger Games,’ a group of about 32 students from Bear River High School were competing in the Region 11 3A Drama competition in Stansbury. Many of those students qualified for state competition and a handful placed in the top three of each event.
For Contemporary Scenes (scenes written after 1900), Gavin Harris and Jordan Michaelis took first place overall for their scene, “The Ledge, the Ledger, and the Ledgend.”
For Classical Scenes (scenes written prior 1900), David Croney and Ammon Wendell took second place for their scene from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Spencer Stamps and Miranda Cox also qualified for the State Competition.
