After cruising through the early portion of the season, Bear River felt its first bit of adversity last week. The Bears won a home game against Tooele, 6-3, then lost an error-filled game at Stansbury, 8-4. Finally, on Friday, they dropped a one-run game they fully expected to win against Box Elder, 6-5. Bear River is now 7-3 this season and 1-1 in region play.
Tooele was the only BR victim last week. When the Buffaloes came to town they took an early 2-0 lead.
Blair Ballard gave up two runs early, but settled down and got the win. Hayden Woodard pitched well in relief while the game was still in the balance.
Ballard helped the cause with an RBI single. Kade Purser smashed a double and Maveryk Holmgren did the same in the BR win.
