Lynn H. Nelson

A man of great wit and the source of much laughter, Lynn H. Nelson completed his journey on Feb. 13, 2012 at his home in Pleasant View, Utah.  He was born to Millicent Harvey Nelson and Glenn Nels Nelson on Feb. 16th, 1923 in Price, Utah.

Lynn served in the Air Force during World War II traveling extensively through China and India.  He married Mary Louise Taylor and moved to Denver while Lynn worked in the family sheep business.  Their three children were born in Denver.  The family moved to Tremonton, UT in 1955 where Lynn began farming in Snowville, UT.  Lynn then worked at Thiokol Chemical Corporation until his retirement in 1976.  Extended family, great neighbors and delightful friends greatly enriched their lives for their 51 years in Tremonton.  In 2006, Lynn moved to Pleasant View, Utah where he enjoyed living near long-time friends Bob and Joan Valentine.

He is survived by his 3 children, Jeff (Kellie) Nelson, Bountiful, UT; Tammy (Craig) Pettigrew, Logan, UT; Greg Nelson of Salt Lake City, and his sister Sally Blaisdell, Albuquerque, NM.  He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother Robert G. Nelson.  He leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank those involved in caring for Dad these last several months.  It not only takes a village to raise a child, but to assist a beloved family member on their final journey. Thank you to Your Parent’s Au Pair and Legacy Hospice for their tender loving care and assistance with Lynn.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd.  Family and friends may gather from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

The family asks that please in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to:
