Fifty thousand Utah homeowners will get zero percent interest, forgivable loans for up to two years to help them avoid foreclosure. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development anticipates a high amount of demand for the Emergency Homeowners’ Loan Program (EHLP).
In order to ensure program funds are made available in a fair and impartial manner, homeowners interested in applying must first complete a Pre-Applicant Screening Worksheet.  If there are more potentially eligible homeowners than there are funds available to assist them, a randomized selection process will be used.
A pre-screening worksheet to determine homeowner eligibility is available at:  http://ehlp.nw.org/, and must be completed by July 22. For more information, contact Neighborhood Nonprofit Housing Corporation in Logan at 435-753-1112, ext. 115 or 116.      Those selected will be contacted by AAA Fair Credit Foundation, Utah’s EHLP Agency, to schedule an appointment to complete the packet.  There is no charge for these services.
