Orson and Jeannette Poulsen report a visit from two of Jeannette’s sons, Brandon and Ran Pearson. Orson also says his fortuitous acquisition of a pair of goslings several years ago turned out to be not such an advantage after all. There are now five mature geese on his farm and they love peas. So now Orson has no peas to harvest. “The rest of my garden is now under fence, but it is a late planting, so I don’t know how it will turn out,” he says. Gary Petit reports having a nice garden, but “it has lots of weeds.” Kaye Draper’s week slowed down a little. On Friday, July 8, she, Bea and Lucy went to lunch. Friday evening, many residents of her apartment building moved items into the common room in preparation for an indoor yard sale Saturday. “We did pretty good,” Kaye says. “The money will go toward barbecues and other fun things.” Wednesday, Winnie Richman, Carolyn Carter and Marriah Richman started new paintings at art class. Winnie will do one with horses as the main theme. Carolyn is doing one with buffalo in it and Marriah’s will be a snow scene. Saturday, Clynn and Winnie drove to Maddox Ranch House in Perry to meet sons, Lyle and Aaron, and Aaron’s family, April, Brittney, Marriah, Zacharia, Skyler and Jayden. April’s parents, Fred and Carolyn Carter, also came. The occasion was to celebrate April’s birthday. All enjoyed their meals and good conversation. Winnie would like to thank Brittiny Chlarson for sharing an afternoon at Burger King and the movie, “Cars 2” with her. Also in attendance were Kateland and Taylor Lamborn, Reagen and Brantzen Richman and very adorable Straton Lee Chlarson. “I love my grandkids!” Winnie says emphatically. “One thing about seeing a movie twice is that one can appreciate the story line better.”
