A magnitude 3.1 earthquake occurred on Wednesday, May 29, at about 7:32 a.m.  The epicenter was about seven miles east of Blue Creek and nine miles northeast of Howell, but was felt as far away as Honeyville. Several calls from concerned citizens who saw smoke coming from Box Elder County’s  Little Mountain landfill Sunday afternoon had county crews and Tremonton fire department on scene to put out a smoldering fire. The town of Plymouth has been put under a boil water order after the system tested positive for E. Coli.  The contamination was discovered following routine water testing by the Bear River Health Department.
